Mercury-Free (Amalgam Free) and Mercury-Safe, Holistic, Cosmetic and Family Dentistry
About Our Mercury Safe Dental Practice
Dr. Timothy Gross 'Mercury Safe Dentist' office is located in Hilton Head Island, SC. He practices holistic, mercury free (amalgam silver filling free) and mercury safe dentistry. His goal is to treat his patients in the most healthy, caring, holistic way possible and to share information about dental wellness with his patients so that they can make educated decisions about their oral health. He fully understands the critically important relationship of oral to overall health and realizes that; "You cannot be truly healthy without good oral health!"
Holistic Dentistry is a philosophy that recognizes that the teeth and associated oral structures are a part of the whole body. Because of this important relationship, we offer a wide range of treatment options. Dr. Gross also takes a unique Whole Body approach to oral health care; combining sound dental science, techniques, technology, and personal experience with a deep concern for his patients' health, emotional well-being and comfort.
Mercury Amalgam Filling Removal
As your Oral Health Doctor, Dr. Gross is aware that mercury vapor and dental infections can have a negative impact on overall health. Because of this concern, we focus on patient education and strive to remove mercury amalgam (silver) fillings in a safe way. To accomplish this, he utilizes removal protocols based on recommendations of a number of prominent holistic dental organizations.
Whole Body Dental Philosophy
His Whole Body, healthy dental philosophy stresses the use of non-invasive treatment whenever possible. He will also, when appropriate, work with qualified health professionals to assist him in his efforts to return the patient to optimal oral and overall health. His Holistic - Patient First approach to dental treatment means that he treats the teeth, jaw, and related oral structures with specific regard to how that treatment will affect the entire body.
Dr. Gross is a strong advocate of continuing education because it allows him to give you and your family the most modern, state-of-the-art dental care. Each year he takes many hours of continuing education courses and he has advanced training in many areas of cosmetic and traditional dentistry. He is also a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) where he received extensive training in cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry and was recognized as a "Preferred LVI Dentist".

A Personal Message from Dr. Gross
In July of 2009, our family relocated from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Hilton Head Island because we love this region. It is a great place to raise a family, the weather is close to perfect, and it is a wonderfully unique melting pot of families from all over.
In December of 2009, I left Pittsburgh as the director of Allegheny General Hospital's Dental Residency Program. Although I will continue to occasionally travel across the country lecturing and teaching other dentists about cosmetic dentistry and temporomandibular disorders (TMJ), my new home is Hilton Head Island. I am passionate about dentistry. I love being a dentist and that is why I so thoroughly enjoy treating patients with the highest level of skill, professionalism and compassion.

NEW! Dr. Tom McGuire's new YouTube Video, Mercury: The Poison in Your Teeth conclusively proves that amalgam/silver fillings not only release toxic mercury vapor - but that the common act of brushing just one amalgam filling - will release more mercury than allowed by governmental regulatory agencies at the workplace! It also tells you what you can do about it. Click Here to watch this amazing video demonstration - and don’t forget to tell your friends and family!
